Never Have I Ever…read a later book in a series before reading the first book

Oh, guilty! I’ve actually done it plenty of times. I didn’t do it on purpose though. The book I always had with me was anything but the first one. I read the Mockingjay first in the Hunger Games series and Seize The Night by Dean Koontz in the Moonlight Bay trilogy.

Never Have I Ever…burned a book

OF COURSE NOT. But, I’ve burnt scraps of paper to get burnt edges. They look so old and cool!

Never Have I Ever…read a book I knew I would hate

No, not really. Life is short and there are so many books. Why waste your time if you know you are going to hate it?

Never Have I Ever…wrote a fanfiction about my favorite books

No, again. I’ve written poems and short prose pieces inspired by certain books but I haven’t really written fanfiction.

Never Have I Ever…loved a book when I was young, yet hated it when I got older

Goosebumps. I loved the series as a child but as I got older, I began to see how repetitive the stories were and I wasn’t finding them creepy either.

Never Have I Ever…dressed up as one of my favorite literary characters

No. I’ve only ever dressed up as an angel for Christmas many years ago.

Never Have I Ever…hated a book by an author I love

I don’t think I have.

Never Have I Ever…gone into a bookstore to buy one book and come out with many more

Who goes to a bookstore just to buy ONE book?!

Never Have I Ever…read the ending of a book before reading the beginning

No, I don’t remember doing that.

Never Have I Ever…read I book without the dust cover

I took it off while reading the Harry Potter books but keep it on usually unless it’s the kind that falls off constantly.

Never Have I Ever…skim read nearly half a book

No, I don’t think I have.

My addition:

Never Have I Ever….pretended to have read a book that I haven’t.

I guess I’m partially guilty. What happened was I wasn’t done with a book (15 – 20 pages left) but when a person asked me if I was done, I said yes.

  4. Thanks for the tag! I loved reading your answers, I used to be very guilty of quickly flipping to the last page of a book to see if I could find my favorite characters mentioned – I just wanted to make sure they didn’t die haha! I try not to do that anymore🙈

How did you read Mockingjay first ahhhh was the story spoiled very bad for you? And 100% agree no one goes to the bookstore to buy just one book!

Thank you so much for the tag! I’m looking forward to it. 🤪

    1. It was the only one I had in te form of a Paperback. I wouldn’t say it spoiled it, it was a bummer reading the other two knowing how the story would end but I still enjoyed reading the other two because that made the third one a lot more clear.
      Glad you agree!🙌😂
Looking forward to reading your answers!

Never Have I Ever…read the ending of a book before reading the beginning that is soo cool, sometimes when I am reading detective novels I uhh, sorta read the end before finishing the middle………..
Never Have I Ever…read a book I knew I would hate, been there done that….

    1. Um…to destroy evidence maybe? Like burning journals and diaries is a pretty good way to get rid of prrof or evidence in certain crimes.
Ooh, guilty!😂 I do that for movies but not for books. Wow, I’d never do that.
      Thank you so much, Aanya!!

Ahh, this was such a great post!
You read Mockingjay before the rest of THG?? Woah. Admittedly, I’ve read book series out of order by mistake, but I simply hate when I do it… even though I am guilty of reading book’s endings first (in my younger years). I also have read books which I *thought* I knew I would dislike, but somehow I’ve always surprised myself by liking them, lol.
Burning the edges of paper sounds very cool – it would definitely make a neat effect.Once, when I was younger, I wrinkled up a sheet of paper and then stained it with coffee to make it look old… I believe a drew a pirate map on it eventually. Lol.
Whoops, I went down quite a rabbit hole there… Anyways, very enjoyable post, friend!

    1. I bought the wrong book at the bookstore 😂 so I ended up reading it. I hate it too.
That’s interesting! I have a pretty good idea of what I’d hate and I usually steer clear.of those books. Maybe I should try reading them now. I might end up liking them after all.
Yes, it does! I once wrote a quote on a piece of paper like that and it looked so cool! I’d love to see that pirate map!🙌😂
So did I! Thank you so much, Sarah!!

  11. I loved reading your answers, so cool! I related to some of them! Like yeah, who in the world of paninis goes to a library just to check out ONE book, like that’s not possible. Not at all. Burning edges of a paper makes it look so cool and historical, I did it once for a science experiment.
    Love it, Sherlocko!
