November & December TBR

I recently finished A Secret History by Donna Tartt, which was so beautifully written. I’ve yet to compose myself enough to write a coherent review. So in the meanwhile, I figured I’d go over my very ambitious TBR for the last two months of 2022. Seriously, how is it already almost November?

Forrest Gump by Winston Groom

I’ve heard so much about the movie but keep putting it off so I can read the book first. The premise sounds lovely and I’m more than excited to get into it! And it’s a whole series!

If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio

After The Secret History, I’ve fallen in love with the dark academia genre all over again and this book seems to appear on so many dark academia recommendations lists. It sounds interesting but I’m not entirely sure if I’ll love it as much as I loved The Secret History.

The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

This book I’ve chosen merely for the hype and its cover. I’ve heard some lovely reviews and enjoyed the premise, I think I might like this but quite possibly, not as much as the hype warrants, haha!

Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

I read The Secret History on stargazer’s recommendation and absolutely loved it. He recommended Slaughterhouse-Five quite recently over at his blog, For Book Lovers and Random People and I’m very excited to get into it, especially because it’s also sci-fi!

The People in the Trees by Hanya Yanagihara

This is my random choice for this month’s TBR. The blurb at the back sounded so crazy but very fascinating and I’ve heard a bit about the author, so I think I’d like to give this a chance.

A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

I’ve put this off for so long much like the Crooked Kingdom. I’m not a huge fan of books like this series but it looks really fascinating and it’s got a whole world with so many elements of fantasy. I also love The Lord of the Rings and think I might find a new series to live in! And if I like it, there’s also a series I can get into, so that’s a win-win!

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

After reading A Thousand Splendid Suns, I’m quite honestly addicted to Hosseini’s writing, simply because he imbues so much culture and authenticity into it.

So that was it – my TBR for November & December! I highly doubt whether I’ll get to more than 3 of them but we’ll see!

  1. I didn’t know there was a book about Forest Gump, interesting…
Those books look interesting! I hope you enjoy them.
I also was hoping to read The Inheritance Games this fall. We’ll see if I get to it or not.
Also, idk if you know/care but I’ve heard that the Game of Thrones books are veryyyyyy sexually explicit. I haven’t read them so I can’t say for sure, but just…I wouldn’t want to go into a book like that without knowing it was like that. Just thought I’d share that!

    1. Me neither, I just discovered that a few weeks ago! I hope so too!
Ahh same – I keep putting it off. You and me both 😂
No, I didn’t know that. I was really hoping for something like the Lord of The Rings *sigh*
Thanks for sharing – I would have hated going into it without knowing.
